Another Day at Mel's Camp for me! Boys are golfing!

Another beautiful day for me just relaxing at Mel's camp.  Well, Sophie and I did run to Anderson's to get lunch and I washed the car at Mel's.  Jerry, Mel, and Paul (neighbor) golfed at Aroostook Country Country Club.   Where the club house is in the US but the rest of the course is all in Canada, New Brunswick.
I hear it was a beautiful course.

The sun takes five minutes or less to drop once it hits the top of the hills across from Mel's camp.

Great natural beauty!

We have changed our travel plans a bit.
Tried to get reservations at Quebec City KOA for this weekend....no openings.
So we are staying at St. Agatha's campground a couple more days and then on to Quebec City before going to 1000 Island area.  Then to Lovesick Lake to visit with Cliff and Jane!

Good night  Hope everyone there is safe after what sounds like storms going through the area at home.

Monday with Mel, Larry and Claudette at Mel's Place

Sunset from Mel's camp tonight!

Sophie was happy to see us.

This picture especially for John B.  "who ate the last deviled egg at a recent campout".
Mel cooked great burgers on the grill.  Toasted the buns and added cheese!
Yum!  Chips and tea with a few deviled eggs thrown in for good measure.

Mel's barn on the "farm".

On a neighbors farm.  Can we say history?

Anderson homestead next to the store.

Overflow seating at the coffee shop in Anderson's store.

Vintage tables at the coffee hour place.

This lady can make a PIE!

Oats in the field.  What a view.

Birch trees in Mel's camp.  Notice the sky and the water!  Perfect spot to relax.

Boy did we test out the HHR.  We took it into the fields.  The fields were originally Mel's Grandpa's farm.  What a view.

More views.

Sunset

Sunset again.

and Again.  Good Night!

PA-ME

Saturday night campground.  Salisbury, MA
Wood chips for the base.  Spacious.  Neighbors had bird feeder right out our bedroom window.  Had Kit and Felicia been with us they would have been chattering at the nuthatch that was being noisey about the feeder being empty.  The neighbors apparently weren't camping this weekend.

Campsite in Friday night's campground in PA
These are only a few of the canoes that were left in the parking lot when we departed PA on Saturday morning.  All the rest were headed for the river.
Back side of Friday night's campsite.
Houlton, ME My Brother's Place Campground-Sunday night.
Jerry set up in the rain and then it stopped.  We took a walk around the campground and talked to some folks from AL that were touring and wouldn't be home until September.
Church tower on the left.  Windmill in the middle, paint townhouse on the right.
Newbury Port, MA
A drive along the way as we traversed six states on Saturday.
PA, NJ, NY, RI, CT, and MA
This is to prove that Jerry made it to his 48th state.  Alaska and Hawaii remain.
Part of my meal at BrownSugar on Saturday night.
Brown Sugar Rest.  Well, I finally found something I could or would eat.  Jerry found a nice steak salad with a spicy dressing.  Great servers.  Each one of them thanked us or wished us a good evening as we left and greeted us as we arrived.
Sunday night in Houlton, ME
My Brother's Place campground

Barn on the campground property.  This is New England!

Along a ME highway.  Notice the moose crossing sign.  This one was not adorned with flashing lights but there were other signs with flashing lights.  In conversation tonight the neighbors seem to think those lights are activated by pressure points in the pavement.  Cloudy day but no rain until we arrived and were all set up!

Check in for Monday night campground was at the restaurant.

View from the camper as we pull into the campground to check in.
I am having some issues with height!  I feel like I could fall off the edge up here.
It is a beautiful view.

View from a knoll near the campsite.

Nothing small in this part of the state!  Thunder is rumbling in the background.
View from next to the camper.

View of the camper from the knoll.

I will take more of this when the sun is out.  I can't seem to get the vastness in a picture.

And we are here for four night!  Can't wait to see the rest of the views.

Okay, the electric posts are a bit weathered at Lakeview Campground.

Monday evening visit with friends!  Mel, Larry, and Claudette.

River Beach Campsites in Milton, PA

Creek running down to the river.  Walkway over to more campsites.
Thirsty Deer area....used to be a little Restaurant at the entrance to that part of the park called the Thirsty Deer.
Little tidbit from the security fella.  :o)

Delaware River
Our campsite was on higher ground but there were folks tent camping within a few feet of the river.
It is NJ across the river but a few more miles and we would be looking at NY.
We got the slide out but the awning just a few feet.  Pull through, yeah.
But as it was we unhooked on an adjacent road (that the GPS both told us to take) and drove both vehicles into the campground.  Well at least we were in shade to unhook and there was a turn around of sorts!  No backing out.
A first time for everything!

Another view of the Delaware River.

This is what I would call a group camp!  Tents upon tents.  All having a great time.
Weather was about 60 so should have been comfortable for the tenters.
This camp is also where the canoes come back in.  Trailers full of canoes ready to go out somewhere in NY tomorrow.

Wednesday and Thursday in Brookville/Clarion, PA Cook Forest

Clarion River in the Cook Forest
We crossed over this river several times in the last two days.
Today, I saw canoes and inner tubes floating down or being paddled down one stretch.
We have seen several deer crossing our paths as well.
Jerry played golf with Jim Durnell today on Clarion Oaks, Clarion, PA.   I am to understand that their group won.
Donna Falconer took me to three quilt shops.   I was excited because all three were part of the "Row by Row" Shop Hop going on around the US and Canada.  We had lunch with the fellas at the course and had dinner at a unique spot (copper ceilings, huge beams for support walls, antlers, tung and grove wood on the walls.  The bar was made with a slab of a tree and the rails to rest your elbows on were branches of the tree.  We had a view of the bar from our table.
An all round good day.
A stop light with solar power for the lights that were dancing around the sign.
Another unique idea.  I am thinking Salem at the by-pass and 60 would be a great use for this type  of signage.

Today is actually Thursday, July 23.
I was in the passenger seat all day....what was I thinking....I never snapped one picture.
Will do better, maybe

I did sew about twelve one inch strip together for a row that I picked up Tuesday in Louisville, OH.
That row now needs the appliqué pieces cut and sewn on...at some point.  The next two days are road trips.
Tomorrow is a trip across PA.  I think it is all Interstate driving.
Saturday should land us in MA or ME by days end.

For those doing CB on Friday nights--We will miss this one.

Night!
