Quebec City

boarding the boat to view the falls that are twice as high as Niagra but not as impressive.
Earlier in the day on the bus tour of Quebec City.  Near the Plains of Abraham.

The falls.

Bridge to Quebec city from the bus trip.

Railroad bridge - one span

Old Quebec City pictures.

Gate from years and years ago.

Part of the wall around the old city which is now surrounded by city.

Notice the steps up to the entrance.  Because they don't have to shovel the snow away from the windows and doors.

The bay from the overlook at Citadelle.

More overlook area at Quebec City.

This is the happening street on the weekends and evenings.  Can't stir folks with a stick according to the bus driver and other passengers that had visited on the weekend.

Old area above the boat boarding area.  Notice the pelts in the second story window.

My lunch on the patio in view of the boat.

Passing car ferry.  Always interesting to see the way the cars are loaded and off loaded.

Jerry boarding.

Montmorency Falls

The Montmorency Falls (FrenchChute Montmorency) is a large waterfall on the Montmorency River in QuebecCanada.[1] The falls are located on the boundary between the borough of Beauport, Quebec City, and Boischatel, about 12 km from the heart of old Quebec City. The area surrounding the falls is protected within the Montmorency Falls Park (FrenchParc de la Chute-Montmorency).
The falls, at 84 meters (275 ft) high and 46 meters (150 ft) wide, are the highest in the province of Quebec and 30 meters (98 ft) higher than Niagara Falls. The basin at the foot of the falls is 17 meters (56 ft) deep. The falls are at the mouth of the Montmorency River where it drops over the cliff shore into the Saint Lawrence River, opposite the western end of the Île d'Orleans. The falls were given this name in 1613 by Samuel de Champlain. He named them in honour of Henri II, duc de Montmorency, who served as viceroy of New France from 1620 until 1625.   From Wikpidia
