September One 2010 Forest City, IA again.

Sunset in Forest City, Iowa at the Winnebago Rally Ground,

I was not going to do a blog tonight as I didn't think there was much to tell.

However, even though I don't have the pictures we view one of God's wonderful gifts.  After the storm that moved through the area we were treated to a beautiful double rainbow.  Yes I attempted pictures and took several....then I deleted them this morning thinking I had uploaded all of yesterday's photos.  Oh well, please use your imagination it was bright and beautiful.

Then this morning we took the coach over about 10 as they asked.  We had gone to town and had breakfast again at Sally's.  They are beginning to think we are regulars.  Next we stopped at the grocery and picked up a couple meals for our trip home or for our continued stay here in the plant.  The people there asked if we were here with out motor home.  I had my Bluefield, VA sweatshirt on and they didn't recognize us.  It is a small town.

Then I twisted Jerry's arm to stop in town again.  I made it in a bookstore, a scrapbook store, and back to the Quilted Forest.   Even with all that we still got back in time to get the camper in a little before ten.  Brenda our technician is a great gal.  She got everything done other than checking the seals on the roof.  We found out we should not have put white grease on the slide out.  In our case that just makes it a mess collecting dirt and dust.  The grill (Keith you'll be surprised.) had been glued on and she glued it with different glue.  She also put a vent cover in the ceiling over the hole in the duct work that was just covered with the ceiling material.  Tomorrow she will check the roof seals etc and redo any that need to be done.  Then we will be on our way...at least we think that is the plan.  We have to have the camper to them at seven in the morning.

We moved over to the rally ground this evening after they gave us back the coach.  We found out they had a dump and potable water here so we came over to fill up and took a spot on the grass.

We have a very enjoyable evening with new neighbors.  We shared the table for dinner.  Char showed me how to cast on for knitting again.  I had tried to remember the other day while we were going down the road but had been unable to remember all the steps.
We exchanged RV stories and books.  Great evening and even the mosquitoes had a feast...which finally drove us all into the campers.

Oh yes, everyone here was excited for awhile.  A bald eagle was sited and I got to watch it fly away.  As close to one that I can remember being.  It was big in the sky and it really was not too close to us when I got there.

Nice relaxing day.  I worked on the English Paper Piecing project (apple cores) that I have going and made a good deal of progress on it while we waited for the camper to come out.

And Jerry golfed the second 9 on the golf course.  He said it was much more challenging that the first nine that he did yesterday.  This one criss crossed the creek and hit the green from him.  :)  We hope he doesn't have enough time to practice on it again tomorrow but we'll see what they tell us in the morning.  We also watched a crew tear up part of the parking lot at the service center about the time most of the coaches were being released for the day.  They are patching the lot so our peaceful day in the parking lot turned into a noisey day in the parking lot.  I held out until they started digging up the spot directly in front of me and then I went inside until they had most of the cutting of blacktop and digging done.  I am afraid they will be there again tomorrow making it an interesting parking lot.

Windows are open, no rain yet tonight, great food, great people to enjoy it with especially a great five weeks with my wonderful hubby!
Don't tell him I said that!  It might go to his head!  :)

God Bless you All!
