We left the camper about 10. Headed for Queen Alexander Park. A conservatory and gardens and a fountain. It was HOT again today.
Pretty things they do with the flowers here,. Carosel horses were done in greenery (but the pic was blurred). Maple leafs here and there in the conservatory were done in flowers.
Then we found Nat Bailey Ball Field. Jerry used to umpire there a bunch while he was here in the summer. The field was there and they have added a bunch of other things.
Then we spent an hour getting through traffic at lunch time that was headed for Lion's Gate bridge as we made the trip to Stanley Park. Things here have been dry so the grass is drying up but the bay is there and plenty of ships to see along the drive. People were out enjoying the HOT temperature. It was 83 on the car temperature and so I gave up and turned the air conditioner on.
After the drive though Stanley we drove by the house Nan and Pop were in many years while Jerry and family visited. It was no longer the old home place but has been sold and the new owners are still constructing and apparently have been for some time.
We then ate at a White Spot and stopped at the local flower shop and brough Calli Lillies for our hosts for this evenings family gathering,
We found what we thought was the house and finally called Earl. We waited for a while and then Earl got home from work. The family came in in shifts which was good for me so I didn't have to attempt to get them all at one time. Glenn, Debbie, Earl, Barb, Carolyn, James, Audrey, Sara, Ted, David, Pop and Marg, Marv, Sue, and us. Wow, great meal, great time. Thanks Barb and Earl for all the work. And do you know not one picture was taken. How did we get away with that?
What gorgeous pictures! Thanks for link to album. Canada sure knows how to do gardens....we saw some beautiful gardens in Nova Scotia...the other end of the country! I can see why Jerry enjoyed this place!
