Statue in Ennis, MT
Montana Today began in Lethbridge, Alberta, CA We left the campground about 10:30. We arrived at the border crossing about an hour later and then about 45 minutes after that we were headed south on I-15. We filled up the camper at Shelby, MT and continued south on I-15 until we reached Exit 192 at Helena. Then we followed 287 the rest of the way into West Yellowstone, MT. It was nearly 8 when we arrived. Grizzly campground is a nice place. They were already closed but had our reservation and site information posted outside where we could find it easily. The sites along the way again were just so magnificent that we spent the day with "WOW" being the most used word of the day.
We managed to get Streets and Trips back up and running after a call to them and Microsoft had to dial into the computer and put a patch on to clean up the file. Anyway, we were being tracked by the GPS all day. Nice feeling.
It was also very nice to see the US Flag waving high over several cities and homes. Nothing against the Canadian flag but it was just nice to be home.
Our gas stop in Shelby, MT was 2.84 and here in Grizzly if it doesn't change will be over 3 a little bit.
We were on scenic drives all day, even I-15 was scenic. 287 for the most part was a nice road to travel but I think there were some 10% grades and the last 120 miles had about 80% that it took 3500 RPMs to keep the camper going 65. It didn't feel much like we were climbing but we were.
Thanks to all the advice from everyone about crossing the border we did not have to leave any thing like fruit or fresh meat with them. We had consumed most of the food we had on board that wasn't in a can and everything else was processed. We don't have any eggs purchased on the road. We had farm fresh eggs with us when we left and they did us through Oregon. Thank Stephen and Erick for keeping us safe that way.
Okay, I have rambled on way too long.
Take care.

Great post...will look all that stuff up online. Glad you got the program fixed...I liked the looks of your campsite at Lethbridge, and the way the scenery changed on your drive. We didn't go to Cracker Barrel...went with Dave & Sarah and Olivia to Kingfish. Olivia was a little disappointed we weren't eating outside, but it was VERY hot on their deck! LaLa is enjoying preschool, has been two days now. Baby Charlie doing fine, as well. Keith is feeling better about the Chamber scramble tomorrow, has 13 teams I think. He will miss Jerry, but is playing with Todd and Dan W.
