Utah, I-84 This is a stupendous road to take. It has two spots that say trucks 55 miles an hour for the curves. I took it at 50=55 just to view the mountains and the rocks. WOW! Beautiful drive. And this is not the best views but the batteries gave out.

We are in Ogden, UT after 437 miles of roads between here and Cheyenne, WY this morning.

Our gas fill up was this morning as we left the campsite. 2.47. We will not be that lucky when we fill up before we start down the road in a couple days. Unless prices fall here. They are more like prices were when we left home.

Wyoming was uphill all the way as we left the campsite this morning. The RPMs were no less than 3500 for what seemed like a long time. But finally we started down hill. Several 5 % grades but the camper did great. That tow mode allows the engine to break itself or something. The cruise worked good in tow mode on these roads too.

Rock Springs,WY was amazing. The mountains were all rock and the cuts for the roads even made it more eye catching.

Along the way today there were dry areas and then green spaces. The wood wind/snow breaks along I-80 made us very glad it was not winter that we are making this trip...even though we drove along this morning for a long time with just the windows open. Finally after our lunch stop this afternoon we turned the air on. Anyway, the snow barriers look like big pallets turned up almost on end and placed to keep the drifts from getting to the road or the railroad tracks that seemed to run along the highway.

We also saw several windmill "farms" and some places that just had several rather than a full farm.

The rock formations along the way were so different. Wish I had Cooper and some of his books along to tell me what kind of rock we were looking at. There were large mining/quarry operations along the way as well.

Whew, way too much to take it all in. But what a drive.

Windmills on a ridge to the right.
Below was a vista as we descended into a valley somewhere in WY.

This was an attempt at taking a picture of the first mountain we could see that still had a snowy slope. Anyway you can see what some of the scenery looked like early on this morning.
This was just before the oil/fuel tanker threw a rock into our windshield. Yep, got the drivers side with a little ding. Maybe someone in Redmond will be fixing those sort of things.
