Aug 8 from Burns, OR to Redmond, OR the Crater Lake

Mountain at Crater Lake.  Notice the snow still on the North Slopes.  Below Pat feeds the Chipmunks at the overlook.  We had Trix cereal with us from a shopping stop and they loved it.  They filled those cheeks full and then came back for more.

Below Jerry walks back from viewing the mountains on the other side of the road from the Crater Lake Overlook.  It was 79 degrees in Redmond.  It was 70 at the overlook.

This are the three sisters mountains viewed from Rt. 20 as we drove from Burns, Or towards Bend.
Crater Lake
This was crystal clear! We drove through the Pumice Desert on the way up the mountain to see the lake.
The road to Crater Lake.  We are back in forest.  Very dry but still forest!  The road just keeps on going and going, Up and Up.
We made the Crater Lake trip by car after we parked the camper on the fairgrounds where the Rally will begin later this week.

At the Crater Lake overlook Pat found "hungry" chipmunks.  Many years ago Uncle Charlie fed these little darlings on the same overlook.  They are more tame than many pets at home.  Never once did they nip at fingers even when there was no food in your hand.

  1. Absolutely love these pictures!!! Also admired the quilt top...the perfect fabric pattern! Also liked hearing the temps ....we've enjoyed some 'drier' days here, thank goodness! Hope the Rally is fun, informative, helpful, etc. etc.
