These pictures are all from our 400 (just a little less) mile scenic byway trip today in the car. We left the campground this morning about 6:45. Filled up the car at 2.83 per gallon and then stopped at McD's for us. These pictures are a few of the 144 pictures I took while Jerry was driving. Yes, almost all were taken while going down the roads! 26-75 and 20 back to I-84 and our campground.
Here is our lovely "hillybilly steps" Still haven't been able to coax the steps to extend as they are supposed to. Picnic table came in very handy! Just the right height. :)

Sun Valley Ski Resort, Sun Valley, ID. No snow on this mountain today. But here are the slopes we saw as we passed through the town.
Redfish Lake is shown below. There are several campgrounds around this lake as well as a lodge. There were several peaks with small amounts of snow still remaining on them. We drove through at least one range that was nearly 7800 ft altitude. The maps said we were driving around several peaks that were nearly or were over 10,000 feet.
The morning started out with a haze over the higher elevations and made for great photo ops.
We followed rivers and creeks much of the day. Such beautiful sites to see clear water gurgling

Our morning view as we neared the exit for the start of our scenic byway.
Sorry the pictures are a jumble but at least you can see some of the 144 pictures I took today. It seemed that over each "hill" there was a different eco system. Desert, farmland, lake, mountain, recovering burned area, National Recreation Area, National Forest, even a famous ski resort town and all the trappings to go along with that. Some of the views looks as if we were soaring over the area rather than just being on the road above the area photographed. (At least the sides of the road generally had a few feet before they dropped off those several thousand feet so I was not hyperventilating.) Chipmunks scampered across the road in front of us several times during the day. Even one deer stood in a pull out area as we passed and just eyed us to make sure we were not going to pull into his spot, then went back to nibbling at something in the rocks. So far we have spotted NO bear, antelope, or eagles. However, we are still keeping our eyes open for those creatures.

Tomorrow it is off to Burns, OR. Following Route 20 I think.
Oh yes, it was 104 degrees here today! We have brought out anything we had to cover the window coverings on the inside to deter the sun. We have a silver emergency blanket on the West windows of the cab area and the vinyl material left over from the seat cushion covers was pinned over the curtains in the rest of the West windows in the front and a throw was over the West bedroom window. There was also insulators filling in the space of the vent up front. When we arrived back at the campground the air conditioner had held its own against the heat. That was good.
Today was laundry day here. We have been out seven days and as this location had new laundry equipment I thought it would be a good time to get that chore done. I met a very interesting young lady and her family as we accomplished our chore.
Then Jerry and I walked the campground and found at least one other camper that will be in Burn tomorrow night and Redmond next week. This couple has traveled over 100K miles in their camper and sound as if they have done the North American Continent. Wow.
Safe travels to everyone. Prayers for Bob R. (Jean) for healing and strength.
Night.
Wonderful pictures...could be postcards!!!!
